Delirium - Lauren Oliver I waited a long time to read this book. It sounded interesting, but I kept putting it off. I had been hearing a lot of great things about it so I decided to finally give it a shot. I really liked it, I didn't love it like I was expecting to. It was a little bit slow to start, but once it took off I was hooked. The writing is fantastic and the story was so well crafted. A world where love is a disease, and everyone must be cured. It's just so fascinating and a little scary. The characters were really great to. I really felt like I was getting to know them. The story and character development was perfect.Lena was such a great character to get to know. She changes and grows so much through the book. At first I felt like she was a pushover, but as the story progressed I really loved her. Growing up being judged by her family's past it hasn't been very easy for her. She is really looking forward to having the procedure done that will cure her so she can forget about the pain and memories of her past. She then meets Alex and the way she sees things changes. It's a forbidden love that is so sweet, and touching.I loved Alex. I knew right when we first met him that there was more to him than we think. I wanted so much to get to know him better, and about his past. The way he is with Lena just melted my heart. He is such a truly nice guy, and genuinely cares about her, and what is the best for her. He wants to make sure she is happy. This book was beautifully written, and such a touching, and emotional story. The ending left me aching, and needing to know what happens next, but also a bit disappointed. I thought the end was a bit predictable, though it still was emotional. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to start reading dysptopian novels, or for those who already enjoy them. This was a great book worth picking up.
