Crossed - Ally Condie I will start off by saying that I read Matched last year because a friend recommended it. I liked it, but didn't love it. I thought it was hard to get into and really slow, but once I did get into it, I enjoyed it. The end of it made me very curious to see where the story would go so I was pretty excited to read this one. This one pretty much started the same way for me. I was almost half way through it and I still felt that it was lacking anything really eventful. It was interesting to get to know some things, and meet some new characters, but I guess I expected more. About half way through the book things do start to happen, and it kept my interest enough. I think I was just really expecting more after the way Matched ended. Or perhaps I just wasn't in the right mind frame while reading this, and if I had read it at a different time I really would have enjoyed it more.Cassia is at her work camp, and knows she will be getting a new assignment and will be even further from the Outer Provinces. She knows that whatever she is going to do, she needs to do it now, or risk not being able to get to the Outer Provinces to find Ky. She sneaks onto an airship that brings her to the Outer Provinces, and she starts her journey to find him. Cassia is a strong girl, and very determined. She knows what she wants and she will stop at nothing to get there. She has heard about the rising, and she wants to find it.I wanted to love this book. I was really looking forward to it, but it just seemed really slow to me. I wanted more out of it. The story is still very interesting, and we do learn a lot. I especially like how in this one, it switches between Ky and Cassia's PoV. We get to learn a lot more about Ky and how he sees things. There is still a lot of questions left unanswered and a lot of story left to be told. I will definitely read the 3rd book in the trilogy because I do want to know where the story goes. As for this one I think I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
